PATACONES: PLANTAIN CHIPS

At any time of day! Patacones / tostones! It is known as male plantain, green plantain, plantain for cooking or platter; in more simply, plantain.


It is native from Asia. It was introduced in Africa and is now cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas of Latin America where it has become the basis of the diet in many countries. It is a low fat food, high in compound carbohydrates, low in sugar, high in fiber. It is also one of the richest foods in potassium, important to restore the balance between sodium-potassium and avoid high blood pressure. It also has plenty of magnesium, which regulates bone formation and helps the heart and muscles function properly. It also has vitamin C, A and B6.

  • Gastritis

  • Avoid hypertension

  • Suitable for athletes as it helps to recover electrolytes.


INGREDIENTS: - one plantain - one tbsp of virgin olive oil - salt PREPARATION: - stripe banana in medium size - add a spoon of virgin olive oil and salt - In a baking tray, place vegetable paper and put portions of the mixture giving a round and flat shape. Bake at 200 degrees for 20 min or until crisp and golden brown
